you can see what a mass qif area is covered by circulation of the storm. waves of heavy rainfall, snow is falling in west virginia and western virginia. as this storm continues to encounter colder air, it will produce more snow over a wider path. let's take a look at the track of the storm at 7:00 this evening. it will take a sharp north turn into northern new eveninglandland. it's going to affect a large area with power outages and perhaps more, we'll keep following the storm for you and i'll have more j nuft a -- just a few minutes.. >> we'll take you live to new york city to see how things are looking there.

88 left today from moffett field they're head together east coast after the storm pushes through. that unit is pushing up two planes with choppers and water boats it will deploy from charlotte, north carolina. thousands of flights have been cancelled because of hurricane sandy, that is stranding travelers here in the bay area. >> david louie joins us live from san francisco international airport with more, david? >> the question is closing down those airports... the word cancelled appeared all over the boards, some airlines set up areas just to handle paengss. dr. evans and the family saw their flight cancelled yesterday. he has cancer patients scheduled for chemotherapy. >> only way to figure out how to get home before waens was to fly to st. louis through denver with a three-hour layover, then drive to

ship's captain. as well as a member of the crew. the ship is a replica of the hms bounty, caught and then sank, swelled up to 18 feet. >> three people were washed overboard. they were wearing immersion suits, only one made it to the live raft. two people remaining unaccounted for we know made it off of the vessel but did not make it on to the rafts. >> the mid town manhattan a giant crane is dangling from a high rise that is under construction. the crane blew over in heavy winds. the storm rages on around us. areas below high rise have been cleared. new york officials say all cranes in the city were inspect head of the storm. but they did not anticipate this. >> mark greenblatt has latest from new york city's battery

we have a verdict this afternoon in the murder of hayward nursing school student michelle le. the jury decided gisele esteban killed her high school class mate. >> jurors believe she planned the murder and convictedest ban -- esteban of murder. >> larry, carolyn, good afternoon, it took the jury about four and a half days to reach the unanimous decision of finding gisele esteban guilty of first degree murder. the family of michelle le were emotional after hearing that murder conviction vix of gisele esteban for the the murder of michelle le. le last sneen a parking garage of a hospital where she was studying to be a nurse. le's family hugged in the hallway, michelle's cousin

over the remainder of the country tomorrow, sunny skies and mild conditions. with the exception of the pacific northwest. here in california tomorrow state wide we'll take a look at dry, mild to warm conditions, high temperatures into 70s in chico and yosemite, 82. 95 in palm springs. 77 in los angeles. the rain up in pacific northwest could produce clouds and maybe a sprinkle or two. remainder of the state will be nice, mild and dry tomorrow including the bay area. we'll see foggy conditions overnight and early morning hours. but for daytime, we're looking at sunny skies, mild conditions tomorrow, high temperatures from low 60s at the coast to mid to upper 70s in the warmest inland loks. now -- loks. now we're looking to halloween. it's going to be cloudy during the day. there is a chance of rain at night. as bruce bocci would say it's not a very special storm but it's our only storm. >> thank you for that.
